On a personal note, I originally took the photo in the title banner that they edited to give it the special effect.

More about Skimming the Surface... |
This bilingual exhibition showcases a range of sprint canoes and kayaks drawn from its world-renown collection of over 600 watercraft and that illustrate a century and a half of competitive sport history. They also illustrate the radical changes and innovations to the hull shape and design in these high-performance boats.
While Canoe Sprint is popular around the world, the exhibition also highlights the unique contributions of a dozen Canadian athletes who have, in their own way, contributed to shaping this sport today. Whether they showed remarkable grace on the course, fought for more inclusivity of female and disabled athletes within the sport, set an unbeaten world record, helped to use sport and play to enhance child development in disadvantaged regions, or were also the family that supported the athlete, Canadians have much to be proud of.
This exhibition has allowed the Museum the opportunity to present a unique, comprehensive history of a thriving international sport with strong links to Peterborough's own history.
