Kaya is a 3 time X Games gold medallist and 5 time Slopestyle World Champion.
The following is a clip from the interview that did not make it on the telecast. Kaya talks about being the only female to have completed a Switch 1080 in competition that includes the video of her accomplishment.
Here is the script I received from CBC with parts of the conversation:
Canadian Kaya Turski became the first female slopestyle skier to execute the "Switch 1080" move at the Nine Queens event in Austria in March 2011. Doing the dangerous move propelled her to victory and the three-time Winter X Games champ and potential Sochi 2014 contender has been among the top in her field ever since.
When Turski was in the red chair George asked her about pulling it off.
"I landed it. I was the only female to land it in competition," said Turski, who then explained what the move entailed. "'Switch' means I'm taking off backwards, '1080' is three full rotations. So taking off backwards, three full rotations, landing backwards... and I'm still the only girl that has ever done it."
George then asked Turski, "What's your relationship with fear?"
"I have a very intimate relationship with fear," she said. "We have our ups and downs but she plays a big role in my life and actually helps me out a lot."
