The Heartbeat

This week's edition of The Heartbeat includes events in Montreal (short-track speed-skating), Windsor (figure skating), Whistler (skeleton) and Calgary (long track speed skating).

Sports being televised include triathlon, short-track speed skating, figure skating and Olympic rebroadcasts (men's hockey and women's soccer).

I've added a feature which includes opportunities to meet past, current and future Olympians. Events are being held in Toronto, Ottawa and Winnipeg.

The Fall Word Cup Team Trials event are a selection competition for the fall World Cups. The women’s distances are 500 metres, 1,000 metres, 1,500 metres, 3,000 metres and 5,000 metres and the men’s distances are 500 metres, 1,000 metres, 1,500 metres, 5,000 and 10,000 metres.

  • Susan Auch - 3 time Olympic medallist (speed skating)

Hundreds of sports items are on display including Clara Hughes' bicycle from 1996, Jon Montgomery's 2010 Olympic bib (skeleton gold), Desiree Scott's 2012 bronze medal winning jersey and a 1999 Pan Am Games torch.
