The Heartbeat - the schedule of upcoming races and events in Canada & on TV

Exciting events are coming up in Canada in the next few weeks  including Canadian Championships in snowboard cross and ski cross. The World Snowboard Tour stops in Saint-Sauveur this weekend with the world's best snowboarders competing in the Ride Shakedown. A highlight show will air on TVA Sports on Wednesday.

Canada's best swimmers will be competing in Victoria for their place on the national team. Sportsnet are livestreaming each evening.

Canada's Federation Cup team including Eugenie Bouchard, Aleksandra Wozniak, Sharon Fichman and Gabriela Dabrowski will be competing on the campus of Laval University against Serbia on April 19-20.

The Curling World Championships are continuing with Kevin Koe, Pat Simmons, Carter Rycroft and Nolan Thiessen representing Canada and qualifying for the playoffs.

Richmond will host 15 countries and 250 athletes for the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships next weekend. Canada's 2012 Olympians will be in action.

The triathlon season begins in New Zealand with Canada's best competing against the world's best. Sportsnet ONE will be televising the women's and the men's races on Sunday night.
